The design of the new Breville Ikon Espresso Maker (model BES400XL) was inspired by commercial machines. With a sleek but functional look, the
Ikon
spoils you with a cafe
experience in your very own kitchen. The unique boiler heating system gives
exact temperature control for espresso extraction and powerful, adjustable
steam through the
commercial
steam wand. The Triple
Prime feature was comercially inspired, and injects three quick bursts of
water into the ground coffee in order to make it moisten and swell. This makes
more back
pressure and prevents burning.
The back-lit soft-touch control pad gives you exact control over the extraction
process. The steam button gives you control of the heating process for frothed
milk. The exclusive Breville Easy Eject filter system makes it easy to
interchange the three included filters (single, double, and pod). Each filter
uses the Breville
dual-wall system to consistently produce rich crema. The commercial-quality
steam wand has a swivel ball for maneuverability and a soft grip dial
that controls
steam pressure for barista-style frothed milk. And always keep your coffee
hot with the mug-warming tray on top of the machine.
